Charley’s Birthday Fundraiser
💗 Scroll down to donate through September 30th💗
Thank you for loving our farm! So much has changed around here in one year. A year ago, we were freshly growing our herd and had just started welcoming guests to Tiny Hooves Farm.
Last year, for what would have been Charley’s 22nd birthday, we held an online fundraiser. Donations of $222 (symbolic of Charley’s 22nd birthday) received a handmade “I CAN DO HARD THINGS” sign, shipped directly to their home. We made 100 signs and in less than a week, every single one was spoken for. The response was heartwarming.
This month, we are thinking of Charley again on what would have been her 23rd birthday, September 18th 💗
In her honor, we are once again holding a birthday fundraiser for Tiny Hooves Farm and making 50 I CAN DO HARD THINGS signs. Donations of $230 (symbolic of Charley’s 23rd birthday) will receive one of our handmade wooden signs. Each sign is unique, as you can see in the photos.
Over the past 12 months:
• Our herd has grown to 18 animals, including Highland cows, goats, alpacas, sheep, and a miniature horse.
• We expanded our barn to create a larger space for our growing goat family and built two additional pasture structures to provide housing and protection from the weather.
• We built an ADA-accessible bathroom inside our barn for visitors with mobility needs.
• We added heat to the space where we welcome grief support groups during the winter months.
• We have continued hosting grief support groups facilitated by local counselors and social workers.
• We have partnered with local schools and families to provide a peaceful place for memorials following sudden loss.
• We created a quiet reflection area nestled among the trees beside the creek on our property.
• We established remembrance rock gardens and special areas around the farm where visitors can leave memorial suncatchers.
• We have taken our animals into the community to educate others about our mission.
And, most importantly, we have given every animal in our herd the very best care we possibly can—balanced diets, clean pastures, cozy stalls, veterinary care, surgical procedures when needed, socialization, and all the love their tiny hooves can handle.
Looking forward, setting goals:
• We are working on a new horse stable for our miniature horse, Flower. Her stable is being built in a separate pasture from the main barn. The stable will have water, electricity, hay storage, and two cozy stalls. One for Flower, and one for her future bestie!
• We would love to build a dedicated indoor meeting space to host support groups on rainy days and in the winter months.
• We need to ensure that our herd has a constant source of fresh, clean water. We plan to upgrade our watering system to a continuous flow unit that keeps water from freezing in the winter months, and keeps it cool in the hot summer months. This will require trenching for additional water and electric lines.
• We strive to meet the mobility needs of all people who visit Tiny Hooves Farm. We have built an ADA accessible bathroom and have modified our tractor barrel “caboose” to accommodate a child-sized wheelchair. It is important that we continue making our farm accessible by adding safe paths for wheelchairs and walkers, handrails, and ramps.
We appreciate every donation!
Each gift provides important opportunities for people experiencing profound grief and loss. Donations also ensure that our animals have the best food, bedding, medical care, and all the daily necessities that come with caring for a mixed herd.
Whether your donation is $23, $230, or any amount in between, every gift makes a meaningful difference .
💗 Donations of $230+ will receive a handmade “I CAN DO HARD THINGS” sign.
We will have 50 signs available this year. We are currently working on them and expect signs to ship in 4–6 weeks.
Each sign will be shipped to the name and address provided at checkout. If you would like your sign shipped to a different address within the United States, contact us by email and we will make it happen: info@tinyhoovesfarm.org
September 18th will always be Charley’s day. Thank you for helping us continue to build something beautiful in her honor, and for helping Tiny Hooves Farm provide a place where people carrying grief can find a little comfort, connection, and peace.
I CAN DO HARD THINGS.
