“What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." - Helen Keller
Many of Charley’s closest friends have joined our Board of Trustees, dedicating their time and heart to our mission. Each brings a special, lasting connection with Charley that helps shape and inspire our outreach. Their guidance keeps Charley’s spirit and passion at the heart of everything we do at Tiny Hooves Farm.
JACK “CJ” BURKE
My name is Jack “CJ” Burke, and I’m a senior at Michigan State University studying Human Biology with a minor in Bioethics. Charley and I dated for three years, and during that time I saw the kindness, strength, and selflessness she carried with her. She had a gift for making everyone feel seen, valued, and never alone in their challenges. As a board member, I’m committed to carrying on her legacy by creating that same sense of care and community for others. With its gentle animals and welcoming environment, I see Tiny Hooves Farm as a place where people can find peace, connection, and healing, just like Charley would have wanted.
Anna Snyder
Hi, my name is Anna Snyder, and I’m a first-year pharmacy student at The Ohio State University. While I now call Columbus home, I grew up in Toledo, where I was fortunate enough to meet Charley. From the moment we met, I knew she was a truly one-of-a-kind person, and that I had to become her best friend. Charley’s empathy, selflessness, and deep love for animals continue to inspire me. As a board member of Tiny Hooves, I’m honored to carry forward those qualities and help build a place where people can find light and comfort in difficult times—a tribute that truly reflects Charley’s spirit. I’m incredibly grateful to be part of this mission, and I hope Tiny Hooves becomes a supportive resource for all who need it.
Juliet McArthur
Hi!! My name is Juliet McArthur and I am currently studying nursing at Miami University. I have been best friends with Charley since my childhood years. As she was one of my biggest sources of comfort for most of my life, I hope that this farm can spread that same ease and love to others. As a member of the board I hope to create a healing environment for anyone who needs it and help carry on Charley’s love of helping others.
Samantha Zobrist
Hi! My name is Samantha Zobrist and I am currently a pharmacy student at the University of Cincinnati, but I’ve spent most of my life in Toledo, where I met my best friend Charley. As a member of the board, I am very committed to help build a space that carries forward her love and kindness, while also raising awareness through community events. My hope is that Tiny Hooves becomes a place of healing and purpose for everyone that visits!
Sophie Golding
Hello! My name is Sophie Golding. I am a Junior in The Farmer School of Business at Miami University. I was born and raised in Toledo, where Charley and I have shared the same neighborhood for so many years. As a member of the board, I am excited to see Charley shine through the farm and see how her mark was left. Tiny Hooves is a place where I think many people will find comfort and healing, just as Charley helped us navigate through those things. Charley would be so proud to see Tiny Hooves come to life!
Sammy Golding
My name is Sammy Golding and I am a health sciences student at The Ohio State University. My biggest dream is to be a physician and treat a pediatric population. I had the amazing opportunity to grow up down the street from Charley and go to school with her from middle school through college. We shared a love for animals, crafting, and medicine. I miss Charley every day and the privilege of being on the board of trustees is nothing short of restorative for being part of Charley’s living legacy.
Sammy Kalniz
My name is Sammy Kalniz, and I’m a senior in the business school at The Ohio State University. Charley and I have known each other since our early days, and our friendship grew even stronger as Celiac Disease buddies. Charley had the kindest soul and always put others before herself. As a member of the board, I’m committed to continuing her legacy by helping others, just as she did. With all the adorable animals and meaningful events that Tiny Hooves offers, I envision the farm as a comforting, peaceful space for those in need.
Alexa Walkovich
Hi! My name is Alexa Walkovich and I am currently a senior in the business program at Florida Atlantic University. I grew up in Toledo, and that’s where I was lucky enough to meet Charley freshman year, where she quickly became one of my best friends. As a member of the board, I am passionate about ensuring that her legacy of kindness lives on through every interaction at Tiny Hooves. I see this special place becoming an oasis where people can find comfort, build community, and discover the healing that comes from connecting with these precious animals.
Molly Altman
Hi, my name is Molly Altman and I am one of your Trustees on the Board. I’m a student at Lourdes University in my senior year studying elementary education and special education. I am also on the competitive cheer team at Lourdes. Charley and I started our bond from high school cheerleading and continued to carry our friendship throughout college, despite our distance. She was always one to get me to try new things outside my comfort zone, and I will always think of her going forward when a chapter begins. I am grateful to the Bauers for asking me to be involved in such a special project, continuing to share Charley’s amazing spirit with the world.
